The properties that make up Shangri-La Gardens are built around some fantastic communal facilities which are jointly owned by all members and are maintained by the elected SLGRA Committee.

Plastic—only grade 1-5 (look for the triangles with a number within).
Glass— no light bulbs, cups, ceramic or broken glass.Metals—no paint cans, aluminium foil or aerosol cansPaper - flat packed and not protruding from the top of the bin
NOTE: soft plastics can't go in the green bins. For further information have a look at the Auckland Council website - rubbish and recycling.
Hibiscus Coast Zero Waste runs a 'drop-off' community recycling centre at Whangaparaoa and can take cardboard, paper, glass, and aluminium and steel cans. (Fees payable for some items.) They can also help dispose of your old e-waste and appliances. Materials dropped off with Hibiscus Coast Zero Waste are mostly recycled in New Zealand.

Fullers operates commuter ferries (or "Ferry Bus alternatives") from Gulf Harbour marina Monday-Friday.
Gulf Harbour marina is also a pick up for the popular day trips to Tiritiri Matangi, an open sanctuary bird island.

All community members share in the facilities and grounds and we take great pride in what we are able to offer our members and visitors. Any illegal entry in to any facility or area by non-members will be taken very seriously.
