Welcome

Welcome to our Shangri-La Gardens Residents Association newsletter! It’s been a while since we have put one together, so please read on! Firstly, we’d like to welcome our new families to our neighbourhood, we hope you are enjoying living in this little piece of paradise!

If you haven’t already, please join our private Facebook group ‘Shangri-La Help Hub’. Use the QR code below to join.

Hope to see some new faces at our AGM/Working Bee/BBQ in October (date TBC). Many hands make light work, and it’s a great way to meet others in the neighbourhood!

Tennis Courts

The new LED lights have been installed around the tennis court, and they look magnificent! These new lights should last a very long time and are more cost efficient to run. Night tennis anyone?!

Parking

Just a friendly reminder that the red brick parking bays are primarily for visitor use only. If there are no parking bays available, please encourage your visitors to park either in Island View Drive (next to the walkway) or out on Gulf Harbour Drive on the school side so they can safely cross the road via the island. The turning circles should be kept clear of parked cars. It is really difficult for the rubbish trucks to safely negotiate the turning circles to empty the bins or collect the bags. Parking kerbside is also discouraged, as it’s difficult

Driving Speed

f you live in Serene Place, you will have noticed the newly painted words SLOW on the road! Children and pets can be unpredictable, so if you are driving slower, you will be able to stop faster. We thank all residents to keep our little community safe by keeping your speed to a minimum when driving anywhere within Shangri-La Gardens. Note: Courier drivers are also known speed demons on both Serene Place and Cascaden Road, so if you have a chance to educate them, do it - the more times they are told, it might sink in.

Clubhouse and BBQ Rules

Please help us keep the Clubhouse and BBQ clean and tidy - remember, we’re not a body corporate and we don’t have the luxury of daily cleaners. If you mess it; clean it. If you break it; tell our Clubhouse Manager so we can get fixed. If you have used the BBQ, do the decent thing - clean it and leave it as you would wish to find it. If the gas is out or low - please refill it and keep the receipt for reimbursement. Thank you!

Trailer

If you are using the trailer, please remember to let the Trailer Manager know should anything break, fall off or you notice any general wear and tear. This way it is in great condition all of the time and will pass it’s WOF!

Our Facilities

Our facilities are your facilities, so please treat them with respect! This means supporting our community by following the conditions of entry, pool and BBQ area rules (if you don’t know these, spend a moment reading them on the gates/retaining wall) and help keep our community tidy and safe for everyone to enjoy.
